The Combined respiratory virus test is a multiplex highest sensitivity test, during which the nucleic acid (RNA) part characteristic of SARS-CoV-2, RSV, other coronaviruses and influenza-A, influenza-B viruses is detected with high specificity using a molecular biological method. It is recommended to carry out a combined upper respiratory virus PCR test if there is a suspicion of an upper respiratory tract infection based on symptoms indicating illness caused by influenza, coronavirus or RSV (fever, lethargy, joint or muscle pain, headache, cough, sore throat, stuffy nose), and/or confirmed contact with covid , with a person infected with influenza. Priority package for children, in whom RSV infection could be more frequent and severe.

It is also recommended for travel, before and after hospital treatment, or if upper respiratory symptoms are unclear.
