By applying the PCR method, the infection can be detected even before the onset of the symptoms, and therefore it is suitable not only for diagnosis, but for screening as well. The PCR method cannot indicate if the patient had previously been infected, it can be assessed by antibody detection.

You can only change or cancel your appointment with the help of our customer service representatives. Please contact us by phone or email in order to change your appointment.

The PCR test is the most suitable method for detecting the actual presence of the virus, with an accuracy of approximately 100% when the sample is correctly collected, prepared and processed.

Basically, a sample can take a negative or positive result after measurement. However, it is important to point out that all our test types, including the PCR test, can rarely give a false result. In such cases, insufficient RNA may not be recovered from the sample taken to evaluate the result of the PCR reaction. In the case of an incorrect result, neither a negative nor a positive value will be recorded in the client’s report. However, it is possible to repeat the test free of charge or to be reimbursed for the cost of the failed sample.

Whitelab, like all private health care providers, performs screening for coronavirus infection, our findings are officially accepted and uploaded to the Electronic Health Service Territory (EESZT) upon entering your social security number. The legal consequences of both positive and negative results are fully equivalent to the legal consequences of test results in the public health system. However, we do not perform any other health care activities beyond screening, i.e. we do not diagnose symptomatic patients. In this case, please ask your general practitioner for information.

In the 4 hours before the sampling, it is forbidden to perform any activity that may affect the density and composition of the mucus secretion (eating, drinking, brushing teeth, rinsing the mouth, smoking, chewing, etc.). Immediately before testing, it is recommended to cough 2-3 times with your mouth closed.

In the case of a positive result, we will report the infestation to the competent authorities in accordance with the relevant legislation. Further action will be notified by the National Centre for Public Health (NNK). It is important to stress that under the current legal framework, positive results of rapid antigen tests are also subject to reporting.

It depends on which lab test you will be taking. Always refer to the description of the test you have chosen before starting the laboratory test. General rules. Please do not eat or drink coffee before the blood test (in some cases, fasting is not necessary before the blood test, e.g. for hormone tests only and tumour marker tests only). The measurement of cortisol levels requires special preparation, and it is recommended that the time of sampling is between 8.00 and 9.00 am or between 5.00 and 6.00 pm.

Cortisol is a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands that helps our body respond to stressful situations, regulate blood pressure and aid digestion. Cortisol secretion has a characteristic diurnal fluctuation: it rises in the early morning, peaks around 8am and starts to fall in the afternoon, with a low around midnight. This daily fluctuation changes when someone’s biorhythm is upset. Because of the daily fluctuations, it is advisable to take it off around 8am, when cortisol levels are at their highest, or in the late afternoon, when blood levels have fallen.

Of course, please fill in the parental consent form.

Of course, please fill out the relevant parental consent form. In case the child is under 6 years old, please contact our customer service.
The best time to take blood is in the morning on an empty stomach (fasting for 10-12 hours is recommended), after drinking plenty of fluids – only clean water. A finger prick blood glucose measurement is taken before the first sample is taken. If the load can be performed, sampling is done 3 times (0-60-120 min). After the first blood sampling, 75 g of sugar solution should be consumed. The 75 g of glucose required to perform the test should be dissolved in 250-300 ml of water and consumed within 5 minutes (1,75 g/kg body weight for children, but a maximum test dose of 75 g is recommended). The sugar solution will be provided on site. No eating, smoking or physical activity is allowed during the test.

This is because skin testing is not recommended in all cases, such as when taking antihistamines or steroids (even weeks before the test!); inflamed, eczematous skin; pregnancy, breastfeeding; young children; prolonged pollen season. In such cases, a blood allergy test is recommended, which specifically measures the presence of allergen-specific IgE antibodies in the blood.

After blood sampling at Whitelab sampling points, the laboratory results are communicated electronically by sending the results to the e-mail address provided at the time of booking or by uploading the results to EESZT within 2 working days after sampling.

It is important that the urine sample is collected and transported in a clean container only. A specially sterile container is only required for microbiome testing. If you do not have a clean container suitable for collecting urine samples, we will provide you with one of the following free of charge, which you can choose when booking your appointment:

GLS courier delivery within 24 hours. If you have requested a home delivery by GLS courier, GLS will inform you of the delivery information and time. The delivery and contact information you provide will be entered into GLS’s system, and we cannot be held responsible for incorrect information. Once you have received the device, you will be able to deliver the sample in person at the same time as the blood collection at the sampling point of your choice at the time of the booked test appointment.

You can also collect the urine sampling device in person at the sampling point. If you collect it in person, it is your responsibility to collect it from the sampling point of your choice at least 24 hours before the test date. Please be informed that the urine container is also available at the pharmacy.

It is recommended that you take your urine sample from the first mid-morning urine, as this is usually more concentrated than the mid-day urine. On the day of the test, it is best not to void urine at night to ensure that you have enough urine in the morning. Please wash your hands before and after taking the sample. Clean the urethral opening area with soap before sampling to avoid contamination of the urine sample. Empty the first third of the urine into the toilet and immediately afterwards (without wiping) empty the middle portion into the sample container provided. The desired volume is approximately 1 dl. Please take extra care not to touch the inside of the container with your hands. You can empty the remaining urine into the toilet. IMPORTANT: In general, it is recommended to avoid urine testing during menstruation unless the test is urgent and can be timed.
